Waxing Crescent Moon
Occasionally, we all like to observe the night sky above us. The need to feel connection with the stars and planets is in us all. I recently found a great blog with information for novices as well as the more informed "astronomer": earthsky.org. I subscribed a few days ago and learned that we don't always see the planet Venus. It waxes and wanes like the moon, but on a 1.6 year cycle: http://earthsky.org/todays-image/photos-venus-crescent-mar-25- 2017-inferior-conjunction.
Another fun tool for night viewing can be found on https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/night/usa/durham. Just add your city's name in the search field.
I don't claim to understand all of this, but I can always walk away knowing more than I do now.
